It was FINALLY cold enough for our ice rink to freeze! I've had a storage bin lid filled with water sitting outside for a week waiting for it to freeze so we could play with our indoor skating rink!
We made our iceskaters by cutting out a few faces from magazines and gluing them on popsicle sticks. I then poured water into small paper cups. I put tin foil over the top and cut a small slit to fit the popsicle sticks through. This held them steady and upright so they would freeze that way. When they were frozen and we were ready to use them I just cut the paper away.
Our skating rink was ready!
I added a bit of fake snow around the edges and some blocks of ice just for fun.
Taylor Swift did some wicked spins!
And of course our cat Ford is always too curious for his own good. He decided to jump right on the ice trying to chase an ice skater. The picture is blurry but you can imagine why haha! It was pretty darn funny watching him slipping and sliding!
After an hour or so it turned into this!

I am going to to do this when it gets cold but use pictures of the kids. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteHaha, this is so funny! Maybe I'll try David Beckham playing ice skates with me!
ReplyDeleteThis can be a very good alternative to buying accessories from online skateboard shops to get the skating sensation. This must be fun to do even for adults!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Carlisle! This should be fun for the family. Whoever thought of this is a person of humor. And you're right with having this as an alternative to getting a pair of skates.
ReplyDeleteCool idea to enjoy and have fun with the family. I think, this could be a good way in presenting and creating a frozen food or whatsoever to make it look more presentable and fun to eat.
ReplyDeleteThose indoor mini ice skating rink and Popsicle stick ice skaters looks like good display near the fridge. I might try this one and see how long will this stand before it melts; I just hope I can do this right.
