Floor Puzzles: Tape and Blocks

I saw this idea at  Hands on as We Grow and knew i'd want to do it with L. Such a neat idea!
Tape squares onto the floor and use blocks to fill up the inside of the square.
A great spacial exercise--They can fill it however they want but filling it evenly is the trick.

I made a few different squares in different sizes and colors

and he used his blocks and leggos to fill them and then build a city. Each square was a different city.

Lawson hadn't played with his blocks or leggos for quite some time
and this activity gave them some new life!

Such a simple and creative idea!

  1. Now there's a great idea. I would hardly have thought of using the floor as learning material for a toddler.

  2. It is always a good idea for a family with kids to get a house that has an extra little room that can be used as a play area. That way, you not only know where the kids are, but there is less chance of toys being scattered everywhere.
