Buttons: Exploring, Matching, Sorting

I brought my button collection out for L while I cleaned up the kitchen. I remember going through my grandma's huge button collection and picking out my favorites, or trying to find each one's match.
I started collecting buttons about a year ago.
I don't have a huge collection yet but I have enough to keep L happy to explore through them.
I loved hearing him say things like "mommy this one is beautiful!"
I showed him how he could sort them in different sizes and colors, and find matches.

Caddy wanted to play too
:)

  2. We combined this with reading Arnold Lobel's Frog and Toad story "A Lost Button", which generated a "that's not my button" game! (That's not my button, that button has 2 holes, my button has 4 holes! etc). So much fun!
