I had a friend and her daughter over for a little crafty playdate.
The kids helped us make pumpkin birdfeeders, an idea i'd found at Martha's Stewart.
What you Need
Pumpkin
twigs
bird seed
*If you'll be hanging them youll also need
Twine or Raffia
Nail or thumb tack
What you Do
1. Cut your pumpkin in half and scoop the guts out
We let the kids help scoop out the pumpkins (which was short lived so we finished them haha!)
See that face? Yeah, he's not too impressed with pumpkin guts,
but he'll play in mud all day long...go figure!
2. If you'll be hanging your feeder, attach the raffia or twine to the bottom.
Secure with a short nail or thumbtack as you see below
3. Decorate and add a twig or two for perches
4. Fill with birdseed and set out or hang for the birds!
Dontcha just love fall projects?!
If you don't have a place to hang them, they still look great on the porch!
