How to get Bulk Size Rolls of Crafting Paper for FREE

   I stumbled upon
one of the  greatest crafting secrets of the century!
and I couldn't wait to share it with you!

Your newspaper is printed on huge spools of paper that look like this:

When the spool is running low on paper, they don't let it run completely out. When they replace it with a new one, the old one still has LOTS of paper left on it. They will have lots of different sizes.
They sell these rolls VERY VERY cheap (less than 10 dollars and often only $1.00-$3.00 dollars)
OR very often you can get them for FREE!

So call your local newspaper and ask them if they sell the ENDS OF THE NEWSPAPER ROLLS.

If you aren't asking for a truck load and just want a few, they will often just let you have them, which is what the friendly dude at our local newspaper did!
I fit as many as my trunk would hold and are giving them to friends!

Their is enough paper on each roll for a years of crafting and art projects, and we've used a ton of it as packing paper! (seriously they are huge)
ohhhhhh the possibilities!

  4. Thanks for reminding me! I was told that our local newspaper gives them away for free but I keep forgetting to go and get some! Now that my little mister is so interested in art I really need to haul myself (and the kids, I suppose) over there and get some rolls. Loving your blog! Found you on pinterest.

  7. My mom used to work for a newspaper and would bring these home. She hasn't worked there for 10 years, and she still has plenty of paper left (after 6 kids and 12 grandkids using them).

  9. I am a local journalist and used to be able to pick these up at work, until cut-backs resulted in the closure of our printing press! So don't forget to keep buying and reading your local newspaper, so that it stays in business!
