Jello Sensory Activity

I am NOT a fan of Jello but I kept thinking that I could let L have lots of fun with it, and perhaps not present it as food. I made two batches of Jello and poured it into a large pan and when it hardened, I brought out the colored rice and noodles, and cookie cutters and just let him have a go at it!

Never once did he try to eat it but he did as I hoped have a blast with it!

Just starting to experiment.
He pushed the noodles into the Jello and LOVED that it got stuck in there! He didn't mix it all up for a long time. He just kept experimenting with the noodles and rice. It was fun just to watch him.

After it was all mixed up he called it "garbage" and pushed it around with his cookie cutters using them as
bulldozers. He put this frog in the middle and told me the frog was sitting on top of the garbage.

Nut Boats

I saw this adorable little crafty activity in the Family Fun magazine (which I just love).
Walnuts are probably one of the best nuts to use but all we have is black walnuts in our backyard, so until our next nature walk, we'll just set our black walnut boats to sail!

I glued my sticks on with superglue but you can also use a small ball of playdough.

This activity was just too cute!
There were moments of sailing and lots of sinking and L loved it!

and we have our champion!

Happy Sailing!

Glitterizing our Autumn Treasures

I was at my moms and found her GOLD SPARKLE GLITTER SPRAYPAINT, and just couldn't resist!

The sparkle is really subtle and pretty (not gaudy) and I love that! It's so beautiful in the sunlight!

Family Handprint/Thumbrint Fall Trees

I loved this family project!

Easy

Paint your forearm and hand brown then press onto the paper. Use fall colors and make leaves with your thumbprint. If you have a toddler, they'll love their hand painted...or love painting yours!

When making the leaves, you can hold their thumb for a little more control and less smearing. We usually don't do such product centered projects but a few things like this are such great family treasures! You see my tree on the left? I tried to make it look like it had a branch but instead it just looks like I have a 2nd thumb growing out of my arm. You'd think i'd know by now NOT to attempt to be artistic, buuut oh well. Daddy made one too, which I just loved.
