We've done fun bath stuff before, but I was TOTALLY inspired by Growing a Jeweled Rose's Sensory Bath Ideas, that I decided to dedicate one night a week to making bathtime EXTRA special! Thursday's are usually our least busiest night of the week, so Themed Bath Thursdays were born!
We've been doing this for 5 weeks now and we have ALL been having a blast! I love creating them and watching L and even little B play in them, and L of course loves to be suprised by his Thursday bath. Before bathtime, I close the bathroom door to create his special bath. He knows I'm doing it, but he can't peek inside until the bath is full and everything is ready. It is SO fun to watch him bust through the door and see the suprise on his face, and then you should see how fast this boy gets naked on Thursday nights. It's only a little extra prep and cleanup time and has been so worth the memories and the fun that we've been having.
Glow in the Dark Theme
LED balloons, which I found out afterward are dangerous because if they pop, the LED becomes a projectile...bummer. We'll be making our own next time by simply putting glowsticks in the balloons. I also used glowsticks, glow in the dark aquarium rocks, and glow in the dark Easter eggs (small glowsticks in the eggs). And I would have put up our blacklight but I couldn't find it.
Ocean Theme
Fingerpainted ocean scene (my stepson painted it and really loved helping with this one),
freehanded foam fish, blue water (food coloring),
seashells and ocean animal toys

Rainbow Shaving Cream Paint Theme
Shaving cream mixed with washable paint in rainbow colors, a layer of shaving cream covering the top of the water sprinkled with food coloring, painted rainbow, and draped rainbow yarn on the curtain rod.
Chocolate "Mud" Theme
We celebrated International Mud Day (June 29th) a little early by having a chocolate "mud" bath! Technically it wasn't a "bath" since we didn't run the water until we cleaned up the "mud." Even little B got in on this one. The mud being chocolate pudding...both boys were in heaven! L said that was the most fun he's EVER had. It was super easy to cleanup...just some warm water poured over it with a cup. They painted with it...and ate a bunch too! haha
Squishy Bath
My stepson is here for the summer, therefore MUCH MUCH more TV watching has been going on in this house and the commercials have been popping up for this stuff called Squishy Baff. At the kids insistence, I bought this stuff at Walmart. You

More Ways to Follow the Fun!
Oh, I love them all!! The chocolate mud bath was a great idea. I tried using real mud, and lined the tub with plastic sheeting for International Mud Day. I didn't anticipate the bag ripping, but guess what? LOL I am sure you can imagine how the rest of that story goes. I can not wait to see more of your baths! Thanks for linking back to me too :)
