Playing with Tiny Ice

I bought an ice cube tray that makes tiny little ice pellets at a thrift store. I needed a simple activity for L to do while I was making dinner so I brought out the tray from the freezer and dumped the pellets into a bowl. I gave L the empty ice tray, small tongs, and another small bowl of warm water. He transferred the ice pellets back into their holes in the ice tray, and he also melted a bunch of ice in the warm water. This kept him busy long enough to make dinner...a simple success!

  1. Love this simple activity too! We did something similar last year with star shaped ice. Where did you get that clear tray in the pic? Thanks for sharing at the Weekly Kid's Co-op!

  4. This is a good material for kids to practice ice carving sculpture. I tried playing with a tray like this one when I was a kid and I can say that it is really satisfying when I am done creating my mini sculptures.
