Contained Body Painting

I am no stranger to messy activities nor am I afraid of them!
One of my mottos is
"what is 10-20 minutes of cleanup when your child is making memories to last a lifetime?!"

That said, i'm sure I have my limits...or at least i'll probably discover them when BOTH of my boys start doing messy projects! Body painting in the house sounds like a full on nightmare doesn't it? Well, somehow it happened a few days ago and not a mess at all was made!
It all took place in a plastic storage bin and the only thing I had to do was wash the blanket and the plastic tub out!

So how did I get him from that to the tub? Carry him?
No way.
I had him sit on that plastic picnic blanket and I dragged him all the way to the tub...which he thought was super fun!

  4. I am a fairly new reader of your blog and I am so glad I found it. I'm slowly coming out of the "stay clean" shell. Today we went outside and played in a gigantic mud puddle for two hours. So when I saw this post I didn't have a full on panic attack. In fact, I saw it and thought, we can do that!

  6. I love this idea! My parents have a campground and they do an activity like this every summer by the lake and let kids paint designs all over and then they get to run in and wash it off and start all over again!

  7. We do this too...except instead of a plastic tub, we do it right IN the bathtub! Then when he's done, I start the water, clean him off, and he helps me clean the tub with cloths. It has been awesome!

  8. Lol we have done that too! The bathtub has been our paint place many a time! Actually, you'll find watercolors and brushes at all times right next to the tub! lol

  9. We do this but in the bathtub, hardly any cleanup at all and the tub works as a canvas as well!
