Marble Painting

Marble Painting
is a standard toddler art project that has somehow eluded us until today.

We tried this two ways:

the first time we just dipped our marbles into the paint and then put them in the pan.

then of course, you move the pan around to move the marbles

The second one we did, I put globs of paint on the paper first and then L dropped the marbles in. He then tried to move the bin around to get the marbles into the paint blobs.
Oh, and I also let him use a bigger plastic bin this time.

he then went to customizing his painting by making his marbles fall in the area and direction he wanted.

Glad we finally got around to doing this. L loved it and I thought the result was so pretty and colorful!
I'll be framing one of his masterpieces.
:)

  9. This is a great idea. I like to use a shoe box with a cover so the kids can shake it. :)

  10. Another way to do this with younger kids is to put a piece of paper into an empty pringles can. Then drop in marbles saturated with paint, cover with the lid and let the kids shake the container. The kids love the sound the marbles make in the can and the prints are beautiful.

  12. I loved trying this one! I think I need to try it with thinned out paint next time, though. The marbles had a tendency to get stuck in the begnning.

  14. Love this crafts. One of the little girls in my childcare really tried to make swirlys (circles) not very successful but it was fun to watch. If nothing else it was good for her fine motor skills.
