Fly Swatter + Sidewalk Paint = Lots of Fun

Admiring his work!

Fly Swatter Painting!
So, I usually try to find homemade recipes for paints and doughs but I caved and bought the Crayola Sidewalk Paint at Walmart. They were such BRIGHT colors, neon like. I paid $2.00 each for yellow, pink, and blue. It easily washes off. It was worth it to me for the fun that we had but i'll definately be trying the homemade sidewalk paint for more fun this summer!

 MAKE your own Sidewalk Paint.
You’ll Need
* 1/4 cup of corn starch
* 1/2 cup water
* Food Coloring
Combine the corn starch and water. Stir until you have worked any lumps out and have a nice smooth consistency. I like to do this in cleaned yogurt or sour cream containers. Add food coloring and mix well. It’s ready to be used for painting.

Note: Sidewalk Paint easily washes off with water.

This was such a fun activitiy for L. We were both covered in paint by the end of it!
Such a blast!

  2. Wonderful, messy, creative play! We recently did fly swatter painting outside at preschool, only we used cut up sponge dipped in paint = the kids whacked the sponges with the fly swatters, and dipped them back in the paint to go again. So much fun!

  6. I did this today with my nephew. Only the paint was very runny! We had fun nevertheless. Is there any thing that would thicken up the paint?

    1. Glad you guys had fun! You could add some cornstarch to thicken up the paint a bit :)
